The Flame Path: Quest 1
Acquisition Quest — Sowing the Teeth
Acquire one Sacred Relic from the Kadmeia Collection.
During this moon, confront something you have avoided — a conflict, a truth, a boundary that must be drawn.
Use or light your relic beforehand as a symbol of intention.
Record the entry in your questlog, and return to The )M( Cave before the moon cycle ends.
Present your token of exchange (receipt) at The )M( Cave Reliquary Counter and tell a Flamebearer the name of the boundary you established.
Ask the Flamebearer for the official Flame Seal to mark your Questlog entry as complete.
The Flame Path: Quest 2
Somewhere within the Hall of Flame, a subtle serpent symbol has been placed.
Find it.
In your Questlog, answer:
Why did the Spartoi turn on one another after rising from the earth?
Hint: Not all foundations survive without selection.
Request the official Flame Seal to mark your Questlog entry as complete.
As the Rite Begins…
Heat exposes what lies beneath.
In the myth of Cadmus, the serpent was slain — but its teeth did not disappear. They were planted. And from them rose warriors already armed, already hardened, already prepared for battle.
The city of Thebes was born not from peace, but from survival.
Now, at the height of summer, this moon asks:
What must you confront to build honestly?
What truth have you avoided sowing?
If something rises against you, was it planted by your own hand?
High summer does not tolerate illusion.
Stand firm.
Draw the line.
Build what remains after the clash.
This observance is open throughout the month.
Foundations built in fire endure.

The purpose of these observances is to honor and acknowledge the historical traditions that helped shape philosophical, seasonal, and mythological frameworks of the ancient Mediterranean world — not to replicate or appropriate them.
“From the teeth of the serpent, a city rises.”
Origin. Conflict. Identity forged through trial.
Cadmus slew the serpent of Ares and sowed its teeth into the earth. From the ground rose armed warriors — the Spartoi — who fought one another until only a few remained. From them, Thebes was founded.
Creation was not gentle.
It was contested.
This moon honors the truth that foundations are rarely born without confrontation.
